Dr. Ruthann Blough heads the research study in Cincinnati with the FISH studies on the 16th Chromosome. They had 75 participants in the study from July 1993 to April 1997 and discovered only a deletion-positive case in 9% of 66 of those patients as of May 1997. The study continues in Cincinnati. At the conference in July 1998 more individuals were drawn to participate in the ongoing study and they continue to take samples for diagnosis.
