Heaven's Special Treasure

Heaven's Special Treasure was given to me.

The mother of John Michael God chose me to be.

Caring for his special needs is not an easy task.

That is why God didn't come to me first and ask

If I'd be willing to take on such a heavy load.

I'd have said, "Lord, please, don't send me down such a rocky road."

But God just saw me in a way that no one else could,

And in a special way that was not understood.

And he said, "You're the one to care for this Special Treasure.

There will be many trials but you must focus on the pleasure."

The pleasures, though in number they are few,

Are enough for me as they continue to renew

My faith in God to help me and to meet every need

Of this Special Treasure, and he is indeed.

There are many people who say, "This is what you need to do."

But please don't advise me until you walk a mile in my shoes.

John Michael can't talk to say "Mom, I love you."

But he has shown his love in ways that only he could do.

He has a hug for everyone and I know he's happy to be

Heaven's Special Treasure that was given to me.
